A caller no system knows remains a number – until someone enters them. In the Webex tile, the "+" is enough: enter name and company, save, and the name appears on the next call.
Entering the data is not the hard part. The hard part is the place. A company with several legal entities keeps several companies in its system, plus sales teams and categories. A contact in the wrong company exists – and is still missing for the colleagues of the right one.
The “+” appears only where the connected system really offers creation and the company has released it. Where a connection only reads, it stays away. A button that refuses when pressed is the worse way of saying “not possible”.
- The phone ringsNo CRM, no address book knows the number
- "+" in the tileEnter name and company
- Placepreselected by department, always changeable
- On the next callthe name appears – for everyone
A case from testing
On 13 September 2026 we created a test contact from the tile, in an explicitly chosen company. It demonstrably existed in Odoo afterwards – and was still not found at first. The reason: a different company was active in Odoo's company switcher.
That is exactly what happens to a contact that lands in a company by accident. This is why the tile asks for the place instead of silently taking the first company, and names it after saving: "Created in …".
What the tile offers
- Odoo: the companies the connected account may write to (from two upwards), sales teams if the CRM module is installed, and categories
- Microsoft 365: the contact folders of a shared mailbox, if write permission has been granted
- Number book: always as the last option – it applies to the whole company
- Other connections: nothing – today they only read, and then the “+” is missing
Only what the account may really write to is offered. A company it has no access to does not appear in the list; offering it would only prepare a refusal. A sales team that belongs to a different company than the chosen one is rejected by the server.
Who suggests the place
Administrators set in the portal, per department, where new contacts go – for example sales in Germany to the German company, service to the "Service" category. Without a setting, your own last choice applies. Both are suggestions: the place can be changed when creating the contact.
Status by system
| System | What can be chosen | As of 13 September 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Odoo | Company, sales team, category | in operation, tested |
| Number book | applies to the whole company | in operation |
| Microsoft 365 | Contact folders of a shared mailbox | built, not yet tried with a customer |
| Other integrations | – | read only so far – no "+" in the tile |
Frequently asked questions
Where does a contact I create in the tile end up?
Wherever you choose when creating it: in the connected system – depending on the system a company, a team, a category or a contact folder – or in the company's number book. After saving, the tile names the place.
Who decides which place is suggested?
The company's administrators, per department, under "Where new contacts go". Without a setting, your own last choice applies. If neither exists, nothing is preselected – the tile never picks a company at random.
Which systems can create contacts?
Only those that offer writing and have been cleared for it. In operation: Odoo and the number book; Microsoft 365 is built but not yet tried with a customer (as of 13 September 2026). All other integrations only read – there the tile does not offer the "+" at all, rather than pretending to save something the other side will refuse.
Does Haus iT Caller ID store the new contact?
No. The contact is created in the system you choose. The portal only remembers the place you chose last, so that it is preselected next time.
